Zero Tolerance for Abuse
Zero Tolerance for Abuse
Every single, highly valued member of our team makes OSMC an extraordinary practice. We’re a diverse bunch of people, made up of different nationalities, languages and backgrounds, but we all share the same passion and goal; to deliver the best healthcare experience with exceptional customer service.
Dignity and respect are core and fundamental to the work we do and similarly we aim to treat all our patients with professionalism, dignity and respect.
Unfortunately, we must now remind patients and visitors to our practice that we also have the right to be treated with that same respect and be allowed to carry out our work without violence, abuse or harassment.
Any verbal or physical behaviour, which causes our employees to feel uncomfortable, embarrassed or threatened, is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
Our Zero Tolerance policy includes aggression or threats made in person, over the telephone or in written communication. We consider threatening behaviour to be:
- The use of aggressive, threatening or abusive language (including raising of the voice, swearing and cursing, shouting & hate speech) which threatens or intimidates employees or Practitioners.
- Attempted or actual aggressive, threatening physical actions made towards any member of staff or the Practitioners that service the practice.
This policy applies within the practice and to any employee or Practitioner away from the practice premises.
The OSMC reserves the right to cease verbal or written correspondence with anyone found to be in breach of this policy.
If you wish to continue to be seen at the OSMC you will have the option to enter into a behaviour agreement. An alternative to an agreement about your behaviour would be for you to seek care with another practice.
