Your routine vaccinations may need to be updated. Tetanus and Diphtheria should be boosted if not given in the past 10 years. Polio booster may need to be given depending on your destination. Influenza vaccine may be recommended. For children assuring the routine vaccination schedule is up to date is important.
Mandatory vaccination is required for yellow fever if travelling to affected areas of Africa or South America. Meningococcal vaccine is required if attending the Muslim pilgrimages of the Hajj or Umra.
Other travel vaccinations that are recommended for travel outside the developed world are Hepatitis A, and Typhoid.
Some travellers will need vaccinations for Hepatitis B, Japanese Encephalitis, Rabies and Tick Borne Encephalitis, which are determined by type of travel, destination and length of stay away.
Travel to Australia /New Zealand, USA / Canada / Western Europe and Japan does not require any travel specific vaccinations.
